Istvan S.

I’m Istvan, a Senior iOS Software Developer with more than 15 years of professional iOS experience and almost 20 years of experience developing for Apple platforms. My experience with the Apple ecosystem started back in 2007 as a macOS developer. I gradually transitioned to iOS as the iPhone and iPad became more widespread. One of the major milestones in that transition was helping a US-based company develop a Google Docs synchronization app for the launch of the iPad in 2010. Since then, I have worked on a wide variety of apps, including social networking, photo and video sharing, fitness, lifestyle, banking, e-commerce, driving and trip tracking, outdoor navigation, and apps communicating with Bluetooth hardware. My expertise includes: * iOS development with Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit * Objective-C for maintaining older codebases, fixing bugs, or migrating existing projects to Swift * Translating Figma designs into pixel-perfect iOS interfaces where appropriate, while adapting layouts for different screen sizes and native iOS behavior * Accessibility support, including Dynamic Type, scalable layouts, and adapting interfaces for different text sizes and accessibility settings * Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Realtime Database, Storage) * Core Data for local persistence * Networking and REST API integration, either natively or with third-party frameworks such as Alamofire and Kingfisher * Communication with iBeacon and third-party Bluetooth devices using Core Bluetooth * Concurrency using Grand Central Dispatch (GCD), operation queues, and async/await * MapKit and Google Maps integration * In-app purchases and subscriptions * UI and performance optimization for a smooth user experience, including smooth scrolling and reducing the time users wait for content * Optimizing complex algorithms for better speed and memory efficiency * Unit and UI testing * Testing, troubleshooting, and bug fixing Whether you have a new app idea or want to improve, maintain, or add functionality to an existing iOS app, feel free to contact me. I’d be happy to discuss how I can help. Thanks for visiting my profile. I look forward to talking with you and hopefully working together.
