I am a mechanical engineer, and have extensive experience using Solidworks to complete a variety of design projects. I am competent with designing stand alone parts, parts in an assembly environment, and whole assemblies. I am also competent in producing Solidworks drawings for manufacturing and layout of parts/assemblies, using proper GD&T when necessary. When designing a part or assembly, I take into consideration the mechanical and usage requirements of the design, how the design will interact with other parts of a larger system, fitment tolerances, and methods of manufacturing. In my philosophy of design and engineering, there aren't necessarily outright solutions, but well orchestrated compromises instead. The interrelated costs and benefits of different design decisions must be weighed and considered within the given constraints to reach a desired outcome.
