My main technologies these days are Drupal and React, often with a focus on helping clients understand their business/nonprofit needs and find the right technology solutions. I particularly enjoy working with nonprofits, startups, and political civil-communications projects. I've been developing Drupal sites for about ten years, and been a freelance developer for nearly twenty. My largest Drupal project was for a startup called Vibio: I was the lead developer managing three other Drupal developers, coordinating with the founder, designers, a writer and community manager. We used the API from Amazon, and as a team developed a loosely Agile development approach and multiperson GitHub system. Our tech team successfully launched; unfortunately the founder was unable to raise the next round, so the site is gone. After that I took a sabbatical and wrote a book, Cognitive Politics, and now that this is published I'm looking to build a reputation at UpWork and find new clients. A recent Drupal 8 project is SpaceBase.co: this website allows organizations to create their own smaller communities with events and forums. The nonprofit that launched SpaceBase.co intends to release it as opensource — if you have a project that calls for a similar website, please check with me, we may be able to use the underlying code. I have almost two decades of a wide range of clients and projects — often working besides a startup founder, helping from the initial idea to completion and launch. I can learn a new technology fast, and for the right project will do this on my own time. I'm a good communicator and enjoy converting business or nonprofit needs into technology. Freelance work supports my personal projects, in particular an environmental company SpaceShare which I've been running since 2004 and just now returning from a partial sabbatical to write a book.
