Shopify developer with 7 years on the platform and 10 in web development. I spent the last 5 leading development at a Shopify agency — 10+ client stores at once, and the three developers I hired and trained. That is why this profile has been quiet. I am back, taking client work directly again. Most of my work is the kind Shopify does not do out of the box: custom apps, extensions, Functions, and integrations with systems that have no connector. 🛠 SOME OF WHAT I HAVE BUILT ▪ A B2B onboarding form that provisions the whole relationship on submit — creates the customer, creates the company, links them, and places them into one of three segment-driven B2B tiers, so pricing applies with no manual approval. Staff configure each tier's starter pack through an admin interface built for them. ▪ A cross-sell engine on four surfaces — post-purchase extension, product page, add-to-cart popup, cart — fed by two sources the merchant maintains, on a 1,000+ product catalogue. Cards pre-select the size just added and drop out-of-stock matches. Then the part most upsell work skips: an analytics portal measuring impressions and conversions per surface, so the merchant sees which one earns. ▪ A private school uniform store where a school code gates registration and then decides the entire catalogue — one school per order, and order validation keeps checkout closed until that school's compulsory items are in the cart. Ask, and I will walk you through any of it on a screen share. 🛠 WHAT I COVER ▪ Stores — from scratch or inherited: redesigns, re-development, templates and sections, theme migrations, and full migrations from other platforms (Magento, LightSpeed) with data, translations, redirects and integrations. ▪ Custom apps and extensions — embedded admin apps, and every extension surface: checkout, customer accounts, post-purchase, POS, Admin UI. ▪ Conversion — CRO and A/B tests (mostly Intelligems), navigation and template work aimed at revenue rather than aesthetics. ▪ Checkout and Functions — off checkout.liquid onto checkout extensibility and off Scripts onto Functions; discounts of any complexity, cart and checkout validation, delivery and payment customisation. ▪ Tracking — GA4, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, customer events, server-side tracking. ▪ Shopify Plus — B2B and company accounts, wholesale, Plus-only APIs. ▪ Data and automation — webhook-driven metafields plus scheduled reconciliation for what webhooks miss: computed fields Shopify does not provide, automatic collection publishing, inventory rules. ▪ Performance — Core Web Vitals, CrUX field data, Lighthouse, technical SEO, structured data, WCAG. I optimise against real-visitor data, and will tell you which part of a lab score is the theme's and which belongs to the apps and trackers you run. ▪ International — Markets, market catalogs, multi-currency, multilingual. ▪ Integrations — warehouses, ERP and fulfilment, recruitment platforms, any service with an API; plus the usual public apps: Klaviyo, Algolia, Boost, Fast Simon, Rebuy, Judge.me, Yotpo, Loop Returns, Gorgias, Tapcart. ▪ Subscriptions — Shopify Subscriptions with custom product-page selling plan UI; Recharge on earlier projects. ▪ Getting off paid apps — moving functionality onto native features or onto code you own: search off a paid app onto native Search & Discovery, a discount and gift card box replacing a public app. The subscription stops, and the code can then be changed to fit the store instead of the other way round. 🎯 HOW I WORK ▸ A store has to work properly, look right, be easy to buy from, and be easy to run from the admin. Most developers cover part of that list. Three years of interface and UX work before Shopify, then seven on the platform, are why I watch all of it. ▸ I build for the person who runs the store afterwards. Features ship configurable from the admin, often with a purpose-built interface, so a non-technical person changes what the storefront does without a developer. ▸ Everything comes with documentation — what it does, where its settings live, how to change it — and a changelog, so handing the work to another developer is painless. ▸ If a task can be solved better than described, I say so before building it, and I flag what you have not noticed yet — broken flows, patterns that lose customers, things that quietly stopped working after an app update. When the requested approach is the right one, I build exactly that. ▸ North American hours.
