New Englander with deep insights into secondary education and 21st-century pedagogy through more than a decade of classroom teaching and e-learning development. My teaching experience involved both a very successful urban high school in the U.S. and an international school in Southeast Asia. In addition to teaching history, including AP experience with high exam pass rates, I have piloted Edtech initiatives for a large school district, designed digital instructional material, led professional development, and worked with education companies both large and small. My university and graduate education involved substantial research and writing projects. From academic writing, articles, blogs, and other content to editing any material, I am a skillful and flexible writer. I immerse myself in topics, conducting the research necessary to write adeptly and with capability no matter the subject. In addition to using these skills professionally, I have volunteered time for English-language writing, editing, and teaching during visits abroad. I have an extensive background utilizing Learning Management Systems as an educator and have authored many courses on Canvas LMS by Instructure. I have designed and implemented programs for classroom use as well as remote, asynchronous, and hybrid combinations even before Covid-19. My practical background is an asset I bring to curriculum design and implementation. My experience on Upwork has encompassed traditional education and Edtech consulting and content writing, including projects on educator licensure test preparation, assessment design, and online Social Studies lessons. I have also worked on a project sourcing media clips for educational use, linking the clips to relevant curriculum standards, and crafting discussion questions tailored to each for use in the classroom. My clients have been happy to involve me in longer-term projects, and I pride myself on delivering results.
