Mechanical Design Engineer

I have over 20 years experience in product, tooling and tester design over a wide range of industries. I have designed products for data storage (hard drives and floppy drives) and consumer products for mass production. I have also designed low-volume products and tooling in the areas of PCB testing and oil-field down-hole applications. I have designed complete rack-mount test systems for fiber-optic transceiver qualification and products that assist in animal tracking for the Colorado Division of Wildlife. I mainly use SolidWorks but I have experience in Pro/Engineer and AutoCad as well. I am well-versed in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and engineering drawings for manufacturability. I have worked closely with CNC machinists, mold-makers, and aluminum die-casters. I also have program management skills from owning and operating independent product design companies in which I was responsible for all aspects of design, purchasing, sales, invoicing, and shipping. I own a small CNC benchtop mill and a 3D printer for making quick prototypes.
