I run DevWire, a small team of senior platform and infrastructure engineers. We take on the production problems that have stalled in-house: outages nobody can explain, platforms a departed engineer left behind, databases near their limits and cloud or API bills that keep climbing. Recent work, all written up in the portfolio below: • Rackspace / beck-online: months of recurring outages at C.H. Beck's legal research platform. We found the cause within two weeks and replaced the failing component in production. The outages stopped. • Barmer and HEK via T-Systems: database and shared application platform for electronic patient records. 3 billion documents migrated in under two days, 30,000 reads per second, launched on the regulatory deadline. • Defence technology company: took over an inherited platform while releases continued, placed exposed services behind zero-trust access and cut cloud costs roughly in half (about €10,000 a month). • Same client, private AI: replaced a rationed Google Translate budget with a private inference platform. Translation API costs fell 99.8%, from €5,600 to €13 a month, and the platform now handles over half a million requests a day. • 50Hertz: built the developer platform for a grid digitalisation programme of 70 specialists, then moved it from public cloud onto company infrastructure. • Audi: automated vehicle software validation from the delivery pipeline to physical test devices and emulators. WHERE WE HELP Kubernetes and platform engineering: production clusters, migrations, CI/CD, GitOps and developer platforms. Cloud and data infrastructure: AWS, GCP and on-premises, reliability, security and cost, plus large deployments of MongoDB, ClickHouse and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch. Private AI infrastructure: self-hosted inference for translation, speech, vision and LLMs when privacy, cost or control matter.
