Rafa G.

👋 Hello, my name is Rafa and I'm passionate about Geospatial Tech, Climate Solutions, and creating great Customer Experiences. Before freelancing with Upwork, I was a Senior Technical Support Lead and Subject Matter Expert for Mapbox Navigation and Data APIs. I have helped customers unblock or launch applications using in Mapbox APIs and SDKs and worked in a number of web and mobile environments including JavaScript, React, Node.js, Swift, SQL, GDAL, OGR, QGIS, Esri, and Carto. I have 20+ years of experience working in the geospatial industry, managing and providing spatial analysis for projects in the US and abroad. I've worked across diverse teams managing enterprise applications such as Intercom, Zendesk, HelpScout, Jira, Confluence, Salesforce, Mode, Tableau, Power BI, Figma, and Sketch. I was Certified PMP in 2008 with a B.S. in Physical Geography from the University of Georgia. While new to Upwork, I am heavily involved with the spatial community and can happily connect you with previous customers and colleagues for references (see my LinkedIn refs). Lastly, I have been closely involved with the geospatial developer community and helped create the Mapbox Developer Network so I am a strong advocate for connecting customers with developers. If we're not a match, I'm certain I can find the right connections for you, so please don't hesitate to reach out!
