James D.

I'm James. I have a Master's degree in Music Production from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, and over 15 years of experience in the music and audio industry, primarily based in New York City and New England. I've worked as a performer (multi-instrumentalist and vocalist), songwriter, composer, arranger, sound designer, studio manager, tour manager, promoter, booking agent, publicist, recording and mix engineer, and producer. I've had the good fortune to share the stage and/or studio with a lot of great artists over the years The other half of my production duo, and main co-conspirator, is guitarist/writer/arranger/producer Adam Agati (currently tours with Cory Henry, Marcus Miller, Kiesza, formerly of Ludacris' live band). He works a lot in pop, rock, Americana, country, jazz, soul, avant-garde, you name it. He's had songs on many Grammy-nominated projects, including Cory Henry's 2022 Grammy-nominated album "Something to Say," and Cory's upcoming Grammy-nominated project. We ghostwrite for various genres, compose, edit, restore, mix, design sound for visual and other streaming media (film/TV, podcasts, interactive graphic novels, advertising, video games), and produce records from inception to master. Recent music projects involve team members from Hiss Golden Messenger, Wood Brothers, Mike Doughty band, Lettuce, Jon Batiste's group, Rising Appalachia, the Late Show band, and many many more. Recent audio projects include audio for visual media campaigns for Waterkeeper Alliance and Tennessee Riverkeeper (feat. John Legend, Rosanne Cash, String Cheese Incident, John Oates, Drive-By Truckers, Moon Taxi, John Carter Cash, and more), Netflix documentaries, a feature film, an interactive graphic novel series, news media, podcasts, videocasts, demos, EPs, singles, and studio albums for rock, hip hop, folk, jazz, indie, blues, Americana, soul, and more.
