Yaprak Deniz Y.

I am an experienced industrial designer and design researcher with a strong background in design cognition, complemented by my ongoing pursuit of enhancing my proficiency in UX design. For the last one and a half years I have been working on UX design methodologies, practicing them in side-projects and internships. I am experienced in research thanks to my Ph.D. focusing on design cognition. In my previous roles, I worked with cross-functional teams, collaborating with engineering to bring products from ideation to reality. With work experience in the academy and an ongoing doctorate focusing on design cognition, I gained theoretical knowledge in designing for better experiences. It brought me a thorough and systematic way of approaching design challenges and an awareness of the importance of relying on user data. In my most recent role as a UX Design Intern at Alex Therapeutics, which is a B2B startup focusing on pharmaceutical solutions, I actively participated in the initial stages of developing an MVP for a medication management mobile app. This experience allowed me to engage in the entire design process, from ideation and prototyping to user testing, as well as collaborating with engineers and product managers to make the product ready for the market. I became proficient in Figma and contributed to developing the company's design system.
