I will ensure your text remains in your voice and style while refining your content and removing any errors that might distract your readers from the encouragement or information you want to give them. While I enjoy working on a variety of texts, I specialize in Christian books, including memoirs, educational books, novels, and a devotional. Secular books I have edited include mystery, sci-fi, and adventure novels; picture books; and self-help titles. I have experience helping many new authors to reach their publishing goals. I will communicate with you in a clear, friendly, and encouraging way. I will make corrections and give you honest feedback, but you will make the final decisions on your work. I can also write your book description or help you craft one that will attract readers by giving them a taste of what your book offers. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE I have a bachelor’s degree in journalism and English, and I worked as a copy editor at a daily newspaper for three years. While I have no formal Bible training, I do have a good layman’s knowledge of the Bible from my personal reading and participating in and leading studies. I am trained in Associated Press (AP) style. I also have the Chicago Manual of Style (18th edition) and the Christian Writer's Manual of Style (4th edition) as additional references. I am a vetted member of the Christian Editor Connection. PREFERRED PROJECTS Currently, I am only taking on new projects that are books. I am most interested in working on novels and Christian books, but I can help you polish any book and work toward your publishing goals. I am happy to work with authors or publishing companies.
