A word nerd who loves a good story. I am an experienced copy editor and proofreader with over 100 books under my belt, including everything from fantasy and romance to self-help and memoirs. As an editor for companies such as Scribe Media, Proofed Inc., and Galatea, my job is to pay attention to the details to catch overlooked errors while ensuring a clean, publishable manuscript is always returned on time. I know how difficult it can be to catch those tiny mistakes and typos, especially when you’ve already read through your manuscript a dozen time! Let me make your life easier by taking some of the load off. On top of six years in publishing, I have an English degree with honors from Toccoa Falls College and continued education in copy editing and proofreading from Edit Republic, Knowadays, and Proofread Anywhere. I am also one half of the team at Hendrix Editing, a full-service book editing business that provides everything from developmental editing to proofreading. If we were to work together, this is how I would approach the project: 1. Verify the type of editing required (copy editing, proofreading, formatting, etc.) and discuss any specific issues that must be addressed. 2. Review the manuscript(s) and provide an estimated delivery date. 3. Edit the manuscript(s) according to CMOS in Microsoft Word using Track Changes, including two editing passes. 4. Return both a clean copy of the document and a track changes copy, highlighting the edits made to the original document.
