PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY I am a dedicated translator with a few years of professional translation experience, and a great interest in language and written communication since early childhood. I have a master’s degree in translation science, focusing on translation from French to Swedish, but I also work professionally with texts in English and Sango. My professional background is diverse, with the common denominator that I have almost constantly been working in multilingual contexts where translating and interpreting between my different languages have been part of the everyday work. On numerous occasions, I have also specifically taken on translation tasks within my various work positions and in my spare time. Long before I decided to fully invest in a career as a language professional, I was already consistently relied upon for various language related tasks and projects such as subtitling video material in Sango or proofreading other people’s texts. SKILLS · Exceptionally precise and attentive to details and nuances, while also being creative and flexible in my choice of translation strategies. · Extensive intercultural competence, based on having lived for many years, as a child and as an adult, in cultures different from my native culture. · Familiar with professional vocabulary and terminology in the fields of development aid, peace and conflict, religion, business, economy and tourism. A quick and avid learner who sees projects with partly unfamiliar vocabulary as an opportunity to develop my professional skills further. · Experienced with several computer programs, including Microsoft Office, SDL Trados Studio and Wordpress.
