Journalist | Ghostwriter | Interpreter | Translator
I am a writer, journalist, editor, proofreader, translator, interpreter, storyteller, and poet—with a passion for powerful narratives and precision. The following overview highlights my multidisciplinary experience and accomplishments. LITERARY WRITING: a) Kashmiri-American Witness to Iranian Revolution: Authored a 102-page biography (44,555 words) of an 80-year-old Kashmiri-American doctor who served in Iran during the Shah’s era and witnessed the 1979 Iranian Revolution. b) Singaporean Saga: Ghostwrote the life story of a Singaporean businessman, chronicling his rise through the region’s dynamic commercial landscape. c) Saudi Chronicles: Penned the biography of a Saudi entrepreneur who, despite being illiterate, achieved success through remarkable intelligence, intuition, and business acumen. d) Recent Memoirs: I have ghostwritten multiple full-length memoirs and biographies, including those of a British businesswoman, a Canadian CEO, a Pakistani bureaucrat, and an American businessman—each project crafted with a distinct voice, cultural nuance, and emotional depth. e) Literary Translation: I have translated numerous short stories from Urdu to English, comprising hundreds of thousands of words, preserving not only the words but also the cultural nuances, rhythms, and emotions that bring these stories to life for a global audience. JOURNALISTIC: Since 2021, I’ve been with Big News Network (BNN), an international agency headquartered in Dubai Media City with administrative offices in Sydney, where I write, rewrite, and edit stories with a proven knack for crafting catchy captions — well before ChatGPT was launched. Previously, I had the opportunity to translate hundreds of newspaper columns from Urdu to English. LINGUISTIC: • Winner, 25th ProZ.com Linguists Translation Contest (English-Urdu Pair), USA • Member, American Translators Association, USA • HIPAA-Certified Remote Medical Interpreter, UK, USA, Canada • Remote Legal Interpreter, UK, USA, Canada • Volunteer, Translators Without Borders, USA For 17 years, I held senior project management positions at renowned electromechanical engineering companies across Saudi Arabia and the UAE. My responsibilities included managing resources, hiring personnel, and arranging materials to ensure smooth project execution. Alongside my primary roles, I regularly interpreted between employees with limited education and immigration, legal, and medical departments. For the past 16 years, I have been working as a freelance translator, with the privilege of: a) Completing projects for various libraries, educational institutions, international NGOs, and government departments, covering subjects such as International Relations, Social Sciences, Commerce, Literature, History, Religion, Politics, and Journalism. b) Serving international clients and translation agencies in over 20 countries. c) Providing interpreting services for international clients. POETIC WORK: In addition to journalism and translation, I write poetry in both English and Urdu, blending classical emotion with contemporary resonance. My poetic work is showcased on my YouTube channel Karb Ki Sargoshiyan, where verse meets visuals to stir hearts and spark reflection. The channel reflects my deep belief that language, whether in prose or poetry, has the power to heal, awaken, and connect.
