Reija S.

My professional background is in teaching and I have taught in primary schools in London for the last sixteen years. I have a PGCE in Primary Education from the University of Brighton and a BA(Hons) in Theatre Studies and English Literature from the University of North London. I grew up in Finland, but moved to London when I was eighteen. I lived there for 26 years until following a cancer diagnosis (I am now three years cancer-free!) and then the COVID pandemic, my partner and I decided to try something different and moved to north of Finland! I also left the classroom behind. I enjoy writing in a wide range of genres and topics and can adapt my writing style to difference audiences. I mainly write in British English, but can also write in American English and have done so for some of my clients. My work on Upwork has mainly consisted of writing articles but I have also undertaken some proofreading work. As a translator, I can translate both from English to Finnish and Finnish to English since Finnish is my native language and after living in the UK for so long, I speak English as well as a native speaker. I am experienced in translating subtitles and documents and checking machine-translated work.
