As a book editor and writer, I take manuscripts that aren't working yet (both nonfiction and novels) and edit them into finished works. This includes developmental, line, and copy editing, plus proofreading and fact-checking when necessary. My nonfiction experience ranges from religion, philosophy, and psychology, as well as business leadership and startup management. As for novels, I have edited contemporary and historical fiction. I have a classical education in philosophy and Jewish thought. For Spines, a publishing company, I regularly line-edit AI-translated novels. Essentially I rework machine output into literary English, tuning it to each author's particular style and taste. In 2023–2024, I led a team of freelance Hebrew→English translators for an Alphabet company, training them to evaluate and flag problematic AI-generated content against quality guidelines. Since 2021 I've also: ➤ Edited and polished nonfiction books of 20k–120k words (startup development, communal narcissism, alternative PTSD treatments, the philosophy of energy and change), plus three novels ➤ Brought several doctoral dissertations to their final defensible draft, and rewritten chapters of nonfiction books that just weren't working yet ➤ Run deep background research for book projects, including building bibliographies and vetting sources ➤ Translated a full Hebrew novel into literary English, along with over 50 technical and academic documents How I work is simple: do what I can to make your book sound more like you.
