Matt B.
Philosophy Instructor, Tutor, and Consultant
Is there a philosophical topic, philosopher, or philosophical school you'd like to learn more about? Would you like to consult someone to improve in a philosophy course you're taking, prepare for an assignment you're working on, or provide feedback and editing for written work you're preparing? Allow me to help! With nearly 20 years of study and 15 years of teaching in the field, I am prepared to help you refine your philosophical understanding, practice, and written work. Whether you are learning about philosophy for the first time, developing a casual interest, or pursuing the path to academia in philosophy, I am here to meet you where you are. I have had the pleasure to teach philosophy at all levels. My work is primarily as an undergraduate instructor, teaching at the introductory level. I also have a long track record of working with advanced undergraduate and graduate students. Additionally, I keep up in the field by routinely reading new works, presenting my research at academic conferences, and regularly publishing peer-reviewed research in academic venues. Philosophy has developed into a vast field and has a venerable history lying behind it. My passion is philosophy of mind and 19th and 20th century European philosophy. I also have a strong background in Ancient Greek philosophy, early modern philosophy, normative and applied ethics, and metaphysics. There is no area of philosophy, however, that doesn't spark my interest to some degree. If I can aid you in engaging any of these areas, and others besides, it would be my pleasure!
