I am a lawyer with 38 years’ experience in litigation whose life focus is now helping people in the underdeveloped parts of the world help themselves out of poverty. However, I keep my hand in the law through the gig economy, because it allows me to use my training, skill, and experience to help people in the developed world. My desire is not to be a full-time litigator at this point in my career. My sweet spot is to help people with strategic legal crisis and communications management. I help individuals and businesses determine legal strategies and position cases for maximum effectiveness, manage cases and assist counsel of record in court cases with strategic vision and planning, help clients and attorneys strengthen and hone their written and verbal communications, maneuver cases that ought to settle from litigation posture to settlement posture, investigate and help resolve internal corporate conflicts of all types and varieties (harassment, misappropriation, shareholder disputes, etc.), assist with government and public relations, serve as proportional general counsel, and generally help clients and other attorneys navigate troubled legal waters. Doing this work in the gig economy allows me to continue saving lives in impoverished nations through my nonprofit, Global Care Alliance. In fact, while I am based in San Diego, I have provided services to clients who found me through Upwork while I was on location in such diverse places as Central Africa, the Middle East, Nepal, Myanmar, and Mexico. No matter where in the world I go, I always have the tools and technology I need to serve my clients at my fingertips.
