Nicanor Jose R.

A writer/editor/proofreader/translator with strong communication skills and a solid Biblical foundation to deliver Christian-themed materials. I am a Christ-follower who have been saved by the grace of God more than 30 years ago and continually being refined as I look onward to Him completing the good work He began in me. In 2009, I completed a two-year Bible-based Christian ministry course from Every Nation Leadership Institute (ENLI). I love theology, hermeneutics, apologetics and creation science to name a few. However, I am an evangelist at heart who believes in the power of the gospel in transforming lives. My writing actually started in high school and continued through my work in information technology, education, and business process outsourcing industries. Most of my compositions were technical, following instructional design and development standards. My work included the translation of program flows into adult learning materials in the form of curricula, class modules, user's manuals, and tech-guides. Besides academic and work-related publications, I also create materials for our church in the form of preaching outlines, scripts, Bible study lessons, visual presentations, devotionals, pamphlets, and the like. And as a Sunday school teacher for kids, and later on as head teacher, I was tasked to creatively develop teaching materials and methods not just for the children to enjoy but to bring home invaluable life lessons and principles from God's Word for them to live by. As a follower of Christ, besides studying the Scriptures myself, I yearn to continuously learn from men of God by reading, listening, and joining classes to deepen my understanding of the Biblical worldview. My appetite for the Word has produced blogs, topical essays, Bible lessons, preaching expositions, and narrative scripts (for video). I strive to be very careful in exegeting what the Word of God says, often consulting the original language to understand what it means. As trained in systematic theology, my aim is to be Berean-like and convey the Biblical meaning based on authorial intent—superintended by the Holy Spirit—and translate these learnings into relevant, applicable action items for the 21st century believer.
