Karen L.Private profile: Upwork shows its earnings only to signed-in members, so we check it every few weeks, not daily. MRR here is a rough estimate (Upwork's six-month earnings ÷ months active). Last read Nov 5, 2026.

I’m a line editor, copyeditor, and beta reader who helps authors refine their manuscripts so they read clearly, confidently, and in their own voice. I offer a free sample edit (up to 1,000 words) once I know more about your project. This helps me make sure we’re a good fit and allows me to tailor the sample to your goals. My aim is to make your writing feel polished and true to your voice. Whether you’re looking for thoughtful reader feedback or the final editorial polish, I’ll help your work feel smooth, confident, and clear. What Services I Offer • Line editing, copyediting, and proofreading • Beta reading with detailed, reader-focused reports that include light developmental insight on pacing, clarity, and character engagement What I Work On • Fiction: novels, short stories, flash fiction (completed works only) • Nonfiction: memoirs, personal development, narrative nonfiction, and general-interest books (completed works only) • Website copy • Copyediting of medical-legal reports (e.g., IMEs, file reviews) What I Don’t Work On • Developmental editing • Ghostwriting or content writing • Academic essays or school assignments • Technical, legal, or medical writing • Formatting for print or ebook publication If you’re not sure whether your project is a fit, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to take a look and let you know either way. What You’ll Receive • Tracked changes in Word (for edits) • Clean copy of your manuscript (for edits) • Detailed beta reader report with reader impressions and light narrative analysis • In-line comments (optional for beta reads) If you're interested in chatting with me, please send a message including your word count, timeline or deadline, and a brief description. I’ll be happy to confirm availability and provide a quote. Also, please note I only beta read or edit completed works. Thanks for stopping by, Karen
