Hi! My name is Jules and I'm here to help you find your voice. My manuscript edits focus on line-level language, clarity, tone, accuracy, and so much more. What can I do for you? - Line editing: style, flow, tone, lyricism, pacing, sentence structure. - Copy editing: consistency, mechanics, repetition, redundancy. - Proofreading: error detection, style guide conformity, citations. What will you get from me? - Clear, direct, structured feedback, using tracked changes and comments. If something doesn't work, I'll tell you why and how to fix it. - Regular meetings to apply and/or debate edits. I want you to talk to me!! - Multiple rounds of editing, if you ask for them. Proofreading is included if you want it. - One copy of your manuscripts with edits in tracked changes/comments, and one clean version. Who am I? - Jules...I told you that at the beginning. - Just kidding. - I’ve edited tons of manuscripts and published 200+ articles as a professional journalist. - I'm also academically trained as a linguist. My typical projects include technical or business nonfiction books, memoir and narrative nonfiction, and long-form journalism or essay collections. I'm open to bringing my editing chops to a fiction project if the right one comes along.
