Hi, I'm Tarik. I work in Casablanca in three languages: Arabic as a native speaker, French at native level, English all day. Most of what I do is checking that a text says in one language exactly what it says in another, and then making sure the file it lives in behaves properly. You get ready-to-publish files plus the editable sources, so you can keep working after I've gone. PROOFREADING & TRANSLATION REVIEW I check translated material against the approved source, sentence by sentence, and I report in a form you can act on rather than a list of opinions. Recent work: a six-course public health e-learning curriculum reviewed end to end in French and again in Arabic, covering platform pages, slide modules, toolkits, workbooks and subtitle files. Over a thousand documented findings on the French courses, nearly every one with a screenshot and a page reference, plus find-and-replace lists so the client's own team could apply the fixes without reopening every file. Separately, a 208-page technical manual checked line by line against its English original in Word with tracked changes: 405 tracked revisions and 35 margin comments, and six genuine errors found in the English source itself, reported rather than silently copied into the French. Each change is word level, so you see the word that moved and not a whole paragraph struck through. If you have machine-translated or outsourced text and no way to tell whether it is right, that is the job I do most. LOCALIZATION & BILINGUAL FILES Website and document localisation, English to French and English to Arabic, and bilingual layouts where both scripts share a page. On Arabic I work in Modern Standard Arabic unless you ask for a regional register, and I check the mechanical side too: punctuation and numerals on the correct side of a string, Latin terms isolated so the reading order holds, tables and cells that don't flip in Word and Excel. My most recent localisation contract closed at five stars with zero revisions. SUBTITLES & E-LEARNING VTT subtitle files corrected without touching a single timing line, verified byte by byte against the originals. On-screen text in animations inventoried film by film when it sits outside the subtitle track. Course content reviewed inside the LMS as a learner sees it, not only in the source files. DOCUMENTS, DECKS & BOOK INTERIORS CVs, one-pagers, reports and profiles rebuilt as native, fully editable Word files with real styles rather than formatting applied by hand. A layout trapped in a flattened PDF that nobody can update is the problem I solve most often. Native PowerPoint with a real slide master, named layouts, theme colours and fonts wired into the theme, editable charts. Change one theme colour and every slide follows. Rebuilds from Figma, PDF or Google Slides into genuinely editable decks: shapes as shapes, text in placeholders, not a page image with text boxes on top. Paperback interiors built to the actual KDP margin tier for your final page count, chapter openings forced to recto, contents verified against real page destinations, fonts embedded, reflowable EPUB alongside the print PDF. If the page count moves during revisions, the book recomposes and the margins recalculate. FORMS, PRINT & BRAND Fillable PDFs with real form fields: fixed font size, exclusive radio groups, tab order that follows the reading order, calculated totals, plus the field names so your system can read the answers back. Posters, flyers, brochures and roll-ups in CMYK from the start, correct bleed and trim, PDF/X output your printer won't send back. Logo systems, colour and type systems and brand guidelines, delivered as true vectors with lettering outlined. A logo trapped in a low-resolution image gets redrawn node by node and overlaid against your original before delivery. WEB & VIDEO I build the product I sell: a legal practice dashboard in Arabic, right to left, publicly live, with zero horizontal overflow at 375 px, which is where most RTL layouts give up. On video I build systems rather than single files: reusable CapCut template systems with a staff guide so non-designers can run them, and programmatic video where you change a data file and render again. HOW I WORK I agree the scope and a fixed price upfront. Clear quotes, revisions included, milestones on larger work. On tools I'm upfront, always. I work in PowerPoint, Word, Canva and Affinity, and in scripted vector, print, web and video pipelines, not in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or InDesign. I can read and work from a Figma file, but I don't design in Figma. If your project genuinely needs a native .ai or .indd file, I'll tell you before you hire me rather than after. On images the line is editing, not generation: retouching, cut-outs, removing elements, recomposition and vectorisation yes, generating an image from a prompt no.
