Sherilynn Drew P.

Hello! I’m Sheri, a recent University of California, Irvine graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Sciences and a minor in Management. I have one year of tutoring experience working with students from kindergarten through ninth grade, as well as experience as a university learning assistant and youth mentor. I can provide personalized support in: • K-12 math • Algebra and Algebra 2 • Geometry • Psychology • English grammar, language studying, and essay writing • Basic Chinese • Homework and study skills • Test and exam preparation • Lecture notes, study guides, and presentations My tutoring style is patient, encouraging, and individualized. I begin by identifying what the student already understands, then break difficult concepts into manageable steps. I explain the reasoning behind each process, work through examples, check for understanding, and provide opportunities for independent practice. For writing assignments, I can help students brainstorm ideas, develop a thesis, organize an outline, strengthen arguments, revise sentences, and improve grammar while preserving their own voice. My role is to help students develop their skills and complete their own work confidently. Students and parents are welcome to share learning goals, course materials, upcoming tests, and areas of concern before a session. This allows me to prepare and make our time as productive as possible. You can expect: - Clear and supportive explanations - Lessons adapted to the student’s learning style - Patient, judgment-free guidance - Reliable communication and preparation - A focus on lasting understanding rather than memorization My goal is to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident asking questions, working through mistakes, and becoming more independent learners.
