Developmental editing • Copyediting • AI editing • Academic, business, and book editing • Proofreading • Formatting AI is a great tool, and it's not enough for important projects. Whether you employ AI or not, I'll bring a quality human touch to your project. • You need someone with editing skills and ethics you can depend on to polish documents that are important to you. • You need a professional who communicates promptly and clearly and honors deadlines; who doesn't think she knows everything, but wants to learn; and who is supportive, enthusiastic, and fun to work with. • You need a new set of eyes on the material you've labored over to make sure your audience easily absorbs your message. I have years of editing expertise, Master's-level education, and tons of client feedback you can read right here that illustrates my skills and reliability. I'm a native English speaker and have sustained a Top-Rated-Plus status on Upwork for over 10 years. I work with established writers, first-time authors, and non-native-English-speakers writers, and enjoy supporting them all. Whether you need simple proofreading, copy editing, formatting, and/or developmental editing, I treat your documents with the thorough care I give my own. I take the time to understand and produce exactly what you need in your unique voice. That means I listen to what you want the material to do for the reader and what you want me to do for you. “Wow! Mary Beth has been an absolute pleasure to work with. She is marvelous at communication and turned my edit around in virtually no time, but still with an amazing depth of critique, comments, and suggestions. She was happy to cooperate with my requests and to answer all my questions. A real star!” –Upwork client
