Vegard H.

Norwegian translator, post-editor and localization QA specialist with 13 years of experience, 190+ jobs delivered on Upwork with 100% Job Success. I have long experience translating texts from English/Danish/Swedish to Norwegian, including translation of marketing content, articles, apps etc. A large share of my work today is machine translation post-editing (MTPE) and AI-output editing. Raw MT into Norwegian tends to produce over-literal compounding, register that drifts into stiff or bureaucratic tone, and 'false fluency' where the output reads smoothly but says something slightly wrong. Catching these takes a different kind of attention than translating from scratch, and it is what I do most days. I handle both light and full post-editing depending on your quality target. I also do localization QA (LQA) on live apps and websites: checking translated strings in context, catching truncation and text that breaks the UI, verifying that button and menu labels actually work in Norwegian, and flagging tone or terminology that doesn't fit the product. Domains I work across: mobile and web apps, software platforms, iGaming and casino/slot content, e-commerce, and marketing content for platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. I have also worked with WordPress, HTML, XML, and I'm experienced with SEO. I have a good understanding of both the Norwegian and English language. With a good eye for detail and an intuitive sense of how the reader will experience the text, I always guarantee high-quality material that communicates clearly. What clients say: "5 star freelancer!
