English to German Translator, Proofreader, and Editor | 20+ Years of Expertise | With over 25 years of experience, my career in editorial translation began as a side project while working for a U.S.-based consulting firm. During this time, I contributed to adapting care management concepts for the German healthcare system. It became evident that external translations often lacked the necessary linguistic and cultural adaptation, requiring someone with an understanding of both the subject matter and client objectives. As a bilingual native German with extensive knowledge of the German healthcare system, I was the ideal candidate for this task. This side project eventually evolved into my full-time profession. Since 2013 I have specialized in translating books (fiction and non-fiction), scientific and legal texts, and e-commerce websites (B2B, B2C), manuals (consumer goods, IT, heavy duty technical machinery, automotive), ensuring that translations are not only accurate but also preserve the author’s tone, style, and intent, regardless of the complexity of the content. Translation Approach: While I understand that AI language models can offer speed and cost efficiency, I believe that high-quality translations require the human touch. My focus is on delivering translations that are both linguistically accurate and culturally appropriate, easy to read, capturing nuanced meanings and maintaining the original voice and emotional depth. Editing and Proofreading: My services also include editing and proofreading. I identify errors, refine vocabulary, and suggest improved word choices to enhance the text. Whether working with your AI-generated drafts or providing fully manual translations, I ensure every document reads smoothly and reflects the precision intended by the original author. Why Work With Me: • Professional Expertise: Over two decades of experience in translation. • Proven Success: Extensive experience translating fiction and non-fiction books. I can send you a link to my credited works. • Client-Focused: Committed to meeting deadlines and exceeding client expectations. • Specialized Knowledge: A background in medical, process/software design, marketing and management enables me to bring technical and business expertise to specialized texts.
