I build and maintain PHP/Laravel backend applications, develop REST APIs, and integrate third-party services. My main focus is complex business logic, reliable API integrations, background processing, and backend systems designed for long-term growth. Over the years, I've worked on a variety of business applications, from financial platforms and medical systems to SaaS products, CRM systems, and marketplaces. For the past several years, I've been focused primarily on backend development with PHP and Laravel, using MySQL and PostgreSQL. I particularly enjoy working on technically challenging problems involving integrations between different systems, external APIs, distributed processing, and background jobs. Building a reliable integration is about much more than making API requests work. It requires understanding how both systems behave under load, handling temporary failures, preventing duplicate operations, implementing appropriate retry strategies and rate limits, and ensuring that failures in one system don't cause problems in another. I pay particular attention to reliability, idempotency, resource usage, and predictable system behavior. I also enjoy the analytical and architectural side of development. Before choosing an implementation, I like to understand the actual business requirements, discuss possible approaches with the client, and find a solution that addresses current needs without creating unnecessary complexity. I believe good backend solutions should provide a solid foundation for future development - both as the business grows, with increasing users, transactions, and data volumes, and as the product evolves with new features, integrations, and business requirements. I'm comfortable working with existing applications, understanding their architecture, investigating production issues, and gradually improving systems without unnecessary rewrites. I'm particularly interested in long-term collaborations and products where thoughtful engineering, reliability, and maintainability matter.
