I’m a senior PHP developer with 25 years of experience, working with companies that need a reliable hand on the codebase that runs their business. My work is split between two kinds of projects: building new applications from scratch, and taking over existing ones. On the new-build side, that’s usually custom SaaS applications, E-Commerce Systems and business tools, including auth, billing, dashboards, admin panels, and integrations. On the takeover side, it’s stepping into existing codebases, stabilizing them, and building the features that have been stuck in the backlog. I work in Laravel, CodeIgniter, other PHP Frameworks and custom PHP. A lot of senior developers won’t touch non-framework code. I will, and a meaningful share of my long-running clients and projects are exactly that: businesses with critical applications written outside the major frameworks, that need a developer who’ll keep them running and extend them rather than push for a rewrite. Most of my clients turn into long-term relationships. A lot of my contracts have run for years, which I think says more than anything I could put on this profile. My focus is backend: PHP, MySQL, integrations, and API work, plus Linux and server administration when a project needs it. I handle frontend work too (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) when full-stack services are needed. AI tools (Claude Code specifically) are part of my daily workflow. They let me move faster on well-defined work and spend more time on the judgment calls that actually matter. I treat AI output the way I treat any junior developer’s code: useful when reviewed carefully, dangerous when accepted without thought.
