I had the privilege of receiving an education in law at one of the oldest and the finest law schools in the Common Law tradition, the Faculty of Law at the University of Delhi. I am licensed to practice law across India and have been a legal practitioner since 2020. I find my roots in science & technology. I graduated as an Electrical & Electronics Engineer in 2012, and worked as an engineer with some super talented folks in a handful of technology companies in Bangalore until 2016. Owing to this early life as an engineer, problem-solving is one of my core functions. Apart from being able to reverse engineer complex legal problems, it also gives me an edge over many of my peers in terms of leveraging technology in several ways, two of them being very crucial. First, having been a part of software development teams, I can easily and thoroughly understand how various digital tools and software products work, and their limitations too. This makes it quite easy for me to figure out how to use, setup, or customize various software products used in any up-to-date law office, and all the varieties of court websites (like the ECF and Pacer in the US, and their state court counterparts etc.). This also includes the various software systems which are integral to law offices, all the case management systems, cloud based documentation systems, and all the varieties of internal databases and customised versions. I have helped some law offices setup/customise their own case/client management systems from scratch using ClickUp, etc. including automating the workflows. I understand their custom requirements as a lawyer, then implement that to design a custom solution that works best for them, as an engineer. Second, having been a part of the core business development functions of some international technology based startup businesses, I bring a unique insider view while dealing with cases related to tech businesses, both in terms of understanding the jargons and the tech related details, and also related to the way things work at such businesses, business operations, and various practical nuances of the involved technology, which can often be critical to such cases. It makes me a perfect fit for the unique and complex legal requirements of technology businesses and startups. UpWork has allowed me to expand my reach, and has given me this privilege of working with several clients from around the world, including some brilliant attorneys from the US. I have been helping US attorneys with everything that needs to be done behind the scenes in a lawsuit. Including legal and factual research & analysis, drafting complaints from scratch, filing cases in the court, getting summons served, conducting discovery interviews, responding to discoveries, and more. I have also helped defense attorneys with preparing defense strategies, crafting solid arguments supported by settled case laws, and with new and creative legal arguments which are rooted in sound and well-settled principles of law. I find this complex brainstorming to be one of the most fun parts of being a lawyer. More so, when it is in pursuit of a noble cause. I am an advocate, actively practising law at various Courts in New Delhi, and the NCR.
