GIS Technician, English/Romanian translator

I have been a GIS technician for three years, working in the field both as a freelancer and as a full-time, normal job. I have worked on big projects like Urban Atlas. I have also been part of an international team that dealt with transferring all of the Uganda’s cadaster information from paper to digital formats. As a Romanian native, I have also worked with university teachers by helping them translate their scientific articles and PhD theses from Romanian to English. I have translated highly specialized texts, including ISI indexed journals and books. As a freelancer, I recently started transcribing English videos and that worked very well for me too. I specialize in handling GIS vector datasets. My experience ranges from accurately digitizing any type of visual information to working with topology tools in order to assure the best quality of vectors and dealing with large amounts of metadata. I also do possess Global Mapper and Google Earth knowledge and have means of handling with KML/KMZ formats. Although I am still relatively new to the GIS world, given my age, I am extremely passionate about it and I love every moment that I dedicate working on projects like the ones mentioned above. I take great pride in my previous working experience, especially because I started from scratch and learned enough by myself to finally find solutions that my former employer still uses today. I am energetic and highly motivated to enhance my freelancing career. I am looking forward to any type of project that fits my skills.
