Jim L.

Hello and welcome! I am a bilingual Commercial Director, Producer, Voice Talent, and Creative Consultant based in Shanghai, working across China and international markets. I am also the founder/director of Northbound Studio, a China-side production company supporting international clients with video, photography, factory/location filming, bilingual production coordination, and cross-cultural creative execution. I help international companies film, produce, communicate, and execute projects across China and Greater China — combining creative production with practical on-the-ground coordination, bilingual communication, and real-world problem solving. My work includes: • Commercials, branded content, and documentary production • China-based filming and production coordination • Factory visits and business liaison support • Creator/KOL sourcing and management • Event and trade show coverage • Localization and cultural adaptation • Voiceover and on-camera presentation Over the past decade, I have worked internationally across the UK, Australia, China, and Taiwan in film, advertising, media production, and education. I hold a Ph.D. in Film Studies from the University of Southampton (UK) and currently also work in university-level film and communication education. Many of my clients rely on me as a trusted bilingual production and communication partner in China — especially for projects requiring local coordination, international communication, and flexible execution on the ground. Through Northbound Studio and our collaborator network, we are able to support productions across major cities in China depending on project needs. Whether you need a China-based production partner, bilingual producer, voice talent, on-camera spokesperson, or cross-cultural creative support, I bring professionalism, flexibility, and hands-on execution to every collaboration. Best regards, Jim Liu
