Doerthe R.

Hey there, I'm Dörthe, a 37-year-old native German speaker. While travelling the world in 2014 (between my bachelor’s and master’s degree), books have always kept me grounded, focused yet hungry to explore our world. After enduring a string of uncreative jobs and struggling with an insatiable wanderlust, I yearned for a change and started working as a freelance literary translator in 2020, channeling my love to travel into exploring foreign worlds within the pages of the books I work on. Since then, I've had the privilege of collaborating with amazing authors and editors, translating over 80 books across various genres, including horror, thriller, fantasy, and romance (historical, shifter, biker, and mafia romance). I approach every job with dedication, striving to ensure both my clients and I are satisfied with the final result. Effective communication, reliability, and meeting deadlines are essential. Nothing excites me more than helping to create interesting characters and stories for the world to dive into. I'm truly passionate about bringing captivating narratives to German readers and would be thrilled to introduce your book to them!
