Hello there! My name is Raul, and I'm a fully bilingual English and Brazilian Portuguese speaker. I'm highly skilled at translating, proofreading and localizing content in both languages, and can alternate seamlessly and effortlessly between them in real-time conversations. • About me: I was born in South Africa, with English as my native language, and moved to Brazil with my family at a young age. Growing up in Brazil, I fully assimilated into the country's culture and became completely familiar with the Portuguese language and Brazilian culture, while continuing to speak English at home to this day. • Work Experience: I've been working online as a freelance translator since 2019, and have extensive experience in a wide variety of English/Brazilian Portuguese translations, including academic, legal, literary and medical documents. I also have a background in teaching English, as well as providing live interpretation between English-speaking visitors and local Brazilian businesses and tour guides in my area of residence, which is a popular destination for tourists from all over the world. In addition, I have several years of experience with planning routes and writing detailed descriptions (in English) of hiking trails throughout all of Australia, working for one of the country's top hiking websites. • Education: I completed the majority of my schooling in Brazil, including elementary school (ensino fundamental) and high school (ensino médio), achieving high grades in most subjects, especially Portuguese and English.
