Rachel M.

For more than a decade, I’ve worked at the intersection of language, clarity, and craft. With a background in Russian linguistics and nearly ten years of experience as a Russian linguist and writer, I bring a deep understanding of language structure, nuance, and meaning to every project I take on. I hold a master’s degree in writing and am currently pursuing my doctorate in English, where my work centers on writing, rhetoric, and the ways people communicate ideas with power and precision. That academic foundation shapes my approach as an editor and writing consultant: thoughtful, rigorous, and always focused on elevating the author’s voice rather than overwriting it. My professional experience includes: o Developmental editing for nonfiction, academic work, and long‑form projects o Line editing and stylistic refinement to strengthen clarity, tone, and flow o Writing consulting for authors who want guidance shaping ideas into compelling narratives o Russian–English linguistic expertise, including translation support, language analysis, and cultural nuance o Manuscript coaching for writers who want a partner in the creative process Clients appreciate my ability to balance big‑picture structure with sentence‑level precision, offering feedback that is both actionable and encouraging. Whether you need a developmental editor for a book‑length project, a writing consultant to help you shape your ideas, or an editor who understands the mechanics of language at a deep level, I bring a thoughtful, collaborative approach to every engagement. If you’re looking for an editor who combines academic expertise, professional experience, and a genuine love of language, I’d be glad to support your project.
