Daigo S.
Japan Market Entry & Business Advisor | English-Japanese Interpreter
I support overseas companies, founders, investors, and business professionals who need someone they can rely on in Japan. My work is not limited to interpretation or translation. Depending on the project, I also help clients understand how business is actually done in Japan, communicate with Japanese companies, arrange meetings, gather information, and follow up on discussions. I have been involved in international business for more than 15 years. During that time, I have provided Japanese-English interpretation and business support for real estate transactions, legal discussions, automobile export and import projects, investment-related work, and various cross-border business meetings. I have also started and managed several businesses myself in Japan and the Philippines. My experience includes language schools, real estate development, hospitality-related projects, e-commerce, and other service businesses. I built and operated an English school business in the Philippines and later sold it. I also built an e-commerce business in Japan and sold that business through M&A. Because I have run businesses myself, I normally look at a project from a business point of view, not only from a language point of view. When I join a meeting, for example, I am not only thinking about how to translate what is being said. I am also thinking about what each side wants to achieve, what may be holding up the discussion, and what should happen next. I am currently involved in Japan-side business development for a U.S. state economic development project. My work includes contacting Japanese companies, arranging and attending meetings, gathering information about potential investment projects, and coordinating with the U.S. side. Recent discussions have included AI and data centers, energy, manufacturing, advanced materials, and related industries. I also run Premium Language Capital Inc. in Japan. We work with business professionals who need to use English in actual business situations such as negotiations, presentations, M&A, fundraising, investor relations, and international business development. My work in Japan includes the following. ・Japan market entry and business development ・Finding and communicating with Japanese companies and potential partners ・Business research in Japan ・Japanese-English meeting interpretation ・Local coordination and follow-up ・M&A, investment, real estate, education, HR, hospitality, and related projects ・Trade shows and business events in Japan ・Scheduling and attending meetings on behalf of overseas clients ・Practical support when something needs to be handled locally in Japan Sometimes a client only needs an interpreter for a meeting. In other cases, they need someone who can contact a Japanese company, understand what is happening, follow up after the meeting, and help move the project forward. I am comfortable doing both. If you are looking for someone in Japan who can communicate directly with Japanese companies and also understand the business side of your project, please feel free to contact me.
