I'm a travel writer and editor, and before that I worked as an overland guide in Africa and South America for over half a decade. For the past 14 years, I have written content for travel companies including Viva Expeditions, P&O Cruises, Cunard and InterContinental Hotels Group. I'm also a contributor to TheCollector, where I write about art and history, often through the places I've travelled. My travel writing draws on 22 years of overland travel through more than 100 countries, including a six-year motorbike trip from Germany to Australia through Central Asia and China, and on the research behind my German-language travel guide, Pocketguide für Globetrotter, published by Delius Klasing. I also edit and proofread book-length text, with experiences ranging from a 60,000-word academic manuscript on the future of democracy to children's non-fiction for a German publisher. Much of this work is for authors writing in English as a second language, and my linguistics background helps me make their writing read naturally while keeping their voice and meaning intact. I hold a degree in Interpreting, Translating and Linguistics and speak Italian fluently, so I also take on translation and localisation between Italian and English, working comfortably in AU/UK and US English.
