Translation: I'm a native German with excellent understanding of English due to living abroad for many years (e.g. Australia), and studying (partly) in English language. I studied Psychology and Cognitive Science at the University of Osnabrück, Lower Saxony, Germany I am talented in the use of the German language as I understand that a translation is rarely needed word by word, but needs to capture the meaning, thus knowing and finding the right expressions in German are most important. I have been translating video games (localization of an app), websites, press releases, travel related topics, legal documents and general subjects with some technical content. By now I have been working in translation for over 10 years. 5 c per word is my standard rate for translation. Proofreading: I am a native speaker and naturally good with German orthography and grammar. On top of that I have an excellent sense for expression and style in German texts, and when I proofread I detect any strange sounding phrasing as well, and can correct it. Due to my vast general knowledge I can also research and optimize the content. I have done several proofreading jobs before. My clients were very satisfied. For a simple proofreading (just minor grammar and spelling mistakes) I take 1,5 c per word, for task that require more editing, rewriting etc. my rates are higher, up to 3 c per word.
