"Die Installation des Rotationspotentiometers erfordert den Einsatz einer elektrotechnischen Fachkraft zur Verhinderung potentieller Gefährdungen der Belegschaft gemäß BArbSchG." Do you feel comfortable translating this sentence? Are you sure you did not miss something that your colleague in Germany wanted to tell you? Well... Fortunately, you got me. I will support your communication with german speaking countries, check and translate both general and technical documents and keep an eye on what is actually conveyed between you and your partners, customers or colleagues. My education as an engineer allows me to not just simply translate, but also keep the necessary structure and content in line that is necessary to transport the essential meaning. Just avoid scenes like: - Why didn't you tell me we needed a qualified electrician for installing the potentiometer? - But, I did! - No, you told me about occupational safety.. didn't you?!
