Now, let's talk about my academic rollercoaster. In Italy, after snagging bachelor's degrees in Chemistry and Psychology (yeah, I know, a weird combo), my plan to teach Chemistry took a detour. I found myself in Slovakia, where I re-enrolled and earned a master's degree in Chemistry, working then at the Slovak National Academy of Sciences. Vienna welcomed me next, where I rubbed shoulders with Bayer and L'Oreal in the lab scene. But life had its script, and the aftermath of the Financial Crisis led to closures, reallocations, and job losses. Adaptability became my superpower. Fortunately, since the beginning to pay for my studies, I have undertaken two parallel careers, one as a teacher of Italian for foreigners and another as a photographer. So, no longer reliant on a single income stream, I embraced the dual-career combo. Teaching Italian to foreigners and capturing moments as a photographer became my dynamic duo. This pivot not only added skills but opened doors to a myriad of exciting opportunities, ensuring that boredom never stood a chance. Now, let's dive into a career highlight that might pique your interest. Since 2010, I've been the brains behind the "listening and comprehension" segment of high school exams in Italian as a foreign language at the Slovak National Institute for Certified Educational Measurements. I craft, edit, and participate in the recording of the audio tracks for both the texts and the exercises.
