My name is Matheus Franco. I am 30 years old, from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and I am enrolled in the Federal University of Rondonópolis, Mato Grosso, where I currently reside, to pursue a licentiate degree in English Language and Literacies. I am a translation, copy editing, and proofreading freelance services provider since 2021. One of the most decisive jobs I have agreed to take — and my greatest achievement so far — was translating a set of 11 academic papers from Portuguese to English, back in 2021, which I did as a means of trying myself in translation studies and work. At the occasion, I translated over 56,000 words within less than 150 hours of work, throughout a 21 days deadline. As I have grown accustomed to proofread all my work right after finishing, none of the files came back due to translation issues. I made the decision to become a full-time translator because I saw this specific job as an opportunity to test myself and hone my skills, the reason why I am proud to have completed it. Here I am! Offering my services, looking for jobs, and learning every day a bit more about translation and many other fields of knowledge, such as localization, MTPE, and proofreading. I am a detail-oriented individual when it comes to the language assets, my field of expertise.
