Ricardo S.

Intimate knowledge of languages and cultures is the cornerstone of all my professional experience. Raised and educated in different countries, lived and worked in others, my translations to and from English, French, German and Spanish will read, sound and feel just right to the native reader or viewer. Upwork brought me one of my most interesting free-lance assignments: For most of the last two years, I have been part of the translation team for the major French newspaper LE MONDE, ensuring daily content translation from French to English under strict rules and deadlines. I am based in France. My years working all aspects of international film production, constantly moving between countries and cooperating with colleagues from many nationalities will benefit the assignments you entrust me with. Real skill comes from solid experience. I can best respond to your demands and requirements by having so often been myself the client. In my new life as an independent freelancer in translating, subtitling and writing I aspire to eliminate all those inaccuracies, inelegancies and imperfections which unnerve the multicultural mind. I also count on unearthing other roles and assignments to assist clients with their international aspirations.
