Viola W.

With 3+ years of experience in the translation and cultural mediation sector, and 7 years of higher education focused on foreign languages, literatures and cultures, I am a language enthusiast characterised by deeply analytical thinking, attention to detail and a fascination for the impact of words on people's lives, both from a literary as well as from a marketing point of view. I am professionally trained in translation, localisation, post-editing, proofreading, interpreting and academic writing. My working languages are Italian, German, and English (I am bilingual in the first two), and I am specialized in sector-specific translation for the medical-scientific and legal-diplomatic sectors. I work with CAT Tools such as TRADOS and Matecat and am fully proficient in both the MS Office and MacOS suites. I have worked on numerous text types over the years and I am always happy to share my portfolio with potential clients. Such text types include, but are not limited to, company statutes (i.e., bylaws), rental and licence agreements, privacy notices, NDAs, various certificates (e.g., marriage, death, residence permit, driver's licence, etc.), medical documents such as reports, leaflets and articles, and legal documents such as statements of claim (Klageschrift), judgements (Urteil) and court decrees (Beschluss). In addition, my postgraduate courses have allowed me to gain insight on fields such as international relations and strategic marketing, especially applied to the luxury industry, which culminated in the ideation of a strategic marketing plan for an historic Italian fashion house in 2026. My international upbringing allows me to smoothly cross cultural differences and overcome linguistic boundaries, accompanying every aspect of my work. Whatever your message is, I am the person who will find the right words and tone to effectively convey it in the culture of your choice.
