I'm a South-African born native-speaking Italian. My translation and transcriber experience started in 2006 transcribing, translating, and subtitling YouTube video content (conferences, news reports, and interviews), motivated by a strong personal interest in alternative history, media, the humanities, and activism. Since then, I have moved to different areas of expertise. From February 2016 to October 2025, I worked as a transcriber/captioner for an American-based agency who was commissioned a WWII veterans oral history project organized by the National World War II Musem of New Orleans, which taught me a lot and which I thoroughly enjoyed. I have done transcription work for the Houston Police Department and the Houston Methodist Church through this agency as well. In my spare time, I study Hellenistic astrology. I love music and the arts. I also love to cook, read books, drink tea, and dream about a better world. TRANSLATIONS: My language pairs are English-Italian/Italian-English. I can provide the best results in the following areas: history, media, psychology, astrology, education, and literature. I have also worked with automated transcription and captioning platforms such as Sonix and TurboScribe for editing and readjusting machine-translated material. TRANSCRIPTIONS: Typing speed: 50 WPM. Software used: ExpressScribe Pro. CAPTIONS: I have worked mainly with .srt and .vtt files. I can synchronize audio and subtitles perfectly. Software used: Subtitle Edit.
