Ludovico D.

Hi, I'm Ludovico! I was born and raised in Italy, but when I first visited London as a ten-year-old and heard people speak English – real English – for the first time, it was love at first sight. Little did I know that this would become a lifelong relationship, eventually leading me to work as a full-time English teacher and translator. As a teacher, I spend my days thinking about how language works, how people express themselves, and how subtle differences in wording can completely change the way something is understood. As a translator, I bring that same attention to nuance to every text I work on. I believe the hardest yet most exciting challenge when translating is finding the sweet spot where accuracy and creativity meet. My aim is to produce clear, natural, idiomatic texts that preserve the original meaning, and tone of voice, so that readers can simply enjoy the text without ever being conscious that they are reading a translation – and, hopefully, discovering that it is one should come as a surprise to them. Whether you're looking for a faithful translation of a literary work, polished Italian for your website, or help adapting your writing for an Italian-speaking audience, I'll treat your text as a personal piece of writing, not simply as a sequence of words to be converted into another language.
